1 Person Dies in El Cajon Pedestrian Accident on 8 Freeway

 
EL CAJON, CA (April 15, 2024) — A pedestrian hit by a car on the 8 Freeway near Main Street died on Saturday night.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly pedestrian accident happened around 9:21 p.m. Saturday. Under unclear circumstances, a woman struck a pedestrian who was standing in the middle of the road. Subsequently, the woman pulled over and called authorities.
 
Minutes later, paramedics and CHP officers arrived but the victim passed away from severe injuries. Officials have not released the person’s name.
 
Due to the crash, officers closed the westbound lanes to investigate the accident and the possible factors.
