Drunk Driver Causes Fiery Crash on 118 Freeway in Granada Hills Killing 3 People

 
GRANADA HILLS, CA (May 15, 2022)Yvonne Joby, Yasmeen Jobeh and Jennifer Dagher died in a fiery DUI accident on 118 Freeway in Granada Hills late Saturday evening on May 14.
 
The accident happened around 11:59 p.m. just west of 405 Freeway. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, a Mercedes coupe veered into a Mercedes sedan that was stationary in the far right lane of the southbound 405 Freeway transition road.
 
The impact caused the sedan to hit a wall and burst into flames. The coupe ended back on the 118 Freeway, blocking all lanes.
 
All three occupants of the engulfed sedan died at the scene. Joby was 18 years old from Ventura, Jobeh was 23 from Oxnard and Dagher was 20, also from Ventura.
 
The driver of the coupe, 63-year-old Karen Gharibyan from Glendale, suffered major injuries. Police believe he was driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
 
Further investigation is underway.
