Yohanna Gomez Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Gettysburg Avenue [Fresno, CA]

34-Year-Old Woman Dies after Struck by Vehicle on Gettysburg Avenue near First Street

 
FRESNO, CA (November 12, 2022) – Yohanna Gomez died in a pedestrian accident in Fresno Saturday evening on November 5.
 
The fatal accident happened around 9:45 p.m. on Gettysburg Avenue near First Street. According to police, Gomez was crossing Gettysburg and was not in a crosswalk when a vehicle struck her.
 
Gomez suffered major injuries to the head but was breathing and was still in surgery Sunday morning at a Fresno hospital.
 
Despite life-saving efforts, Gomez did not survive and was declared dead. She was a 34-year-old Hanford resident, according to the Fresno County Coroner’s Office.
 
Neither alcohol nor drugs are suspected. Police said the driver was driving the speed limit.
 
An investigation into this fatality is ongoing.
