ORCUTT, CA (November 13, 2024) — A wrong-way driver suffered major injuries in an accident on Highway 135 near Clark Avenue.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle crash happened around 9:40 p.m. Monday. For unknown reasons, a man in his 40s was driving northbound in the southbound lanes of Highway 135. Subsequently, his northbound vehicle slammed into a southbound driver.
 
Moments later, Santa Barbara County Fire Department paramedics arrived at the scene and firefighters freed the wrong-way motorist before taking him to Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria. The man in his 20s driving the other car declined medical treatment.
