Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash on Santa Ana Boulevard, Involved Flee Scene

 
SANTA ANA, CA (September 26, 2022) – A woman died in a two-vehicle accident on Santa Ana Boulevard in Santa Ana early Saturday.
 
The accident happened around 5:30 a.m. on September 24 at Grand Avenue. According to the Santa Ana Police Department, the victim was in a Chevrolet Tahoe that was heading east on Santa Ana Boulevard when the SUV drove through a red light at the intersection. A Nissan Versa that was going south on Grand Avenue then struck the Tahoe.
 
When officers arrived, they found the woman lying in the intersection, ejected from the vehicle due to the impact of the crash.
 
Paramedics rushed the woman to a hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
 
Police said at least one person inside the Tahoe, and possibly more, fled the scene on foot. It was unclear if the woman was the one driving the Tahoe or if she was a passenger.
 
The driver of the Nissan remained on scene and cooperated with police.
 
Whether impaired or distracted driving or speeding contributed to the crash was unknown. The Santa Ana Police Department’s Traffic Division urged anyone with further information to call them at 714-245-8200 or 714-245-8216.
