Fiery Multi-Vehicle Accident on 5 Freeway in Irvine Leaves 1 Dead and Injures 2 Others

 
IRVINE, CA (September 26, 2022) – Daniel Franco was killed in a fiery multi-vehicle accident on 5 Freeway in Irvine early Saturday morning.
 
The accident happened just after 4:00 a.m. on September 24 at Jamboree Road. According to the CHP, a semi truck and several other vehicles collided along the southbound freeway in unclear circumstances. The impact caused the semi to burst into flames.
 
Firefighters responded and pronounced 59-year-old Lake Forest resident Franco dead at the scene.
 
Paramedics transported two other people to a hospital in stable condition, the Orange County Fire Authority reported.
 
Debris and items had spilled all over the southbound freeway.
 
The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the exact cause of the crash and liability.
