Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 99 in Manteca Leaves Sacramento Woman Dead

 
MANTECA, CA (January 17, 2024) – A woman was killed in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 99 in Manteca Sunday evening on January 14.
 
The fatal accident happened around 9:22 p.m. near Highway 120. According to the California Highway Patrol, the woman was driving a Chevrolet Malibu south on Highway 99 when she went into the center median and collided with the concrete divider wall.
 
A second vehicle traveling in the same lane could not stop in time and crashed into the Malibu.
 
As a result, the woman driving the Malibu suffered significant injuries. Paramedics rushed her to San Joaquin General Hospital, where she later died. She was a 30-year-old Sacramento resident.
 
It is unknown if alcohol or drugs played a factor in the crash, which is still under investigation.
