Possible DUI-Related Crash on Orange Avenue in Coronado Kills 1 and Injures 2
CORONADO, CA (July 31, 2022) – A 25-year-old woman was killed in a suspected DUI accident on Orange Avenue in Coronado early Friday morning, July 29.
The accident happened around 12:30 a.m. in the 1100 block of Orange Avenue near the Hotel Del Coronado. According to the Coronado Police Department, a white sedan was traveling at a high rate of speed when it crashed in the area.
The impact caused severe injuries on one of the female occupants, who was sitting in the back seat of the sedan. That woman died at the scene.
Paramedics transported the 20-year-old male driver and another female passenger, also 20 years old and was sitting in the front passenger seat, to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators believe intoxication and speeding may have played roles in the crash, which is under investigation.
