Woman Dies in Redondo Beach Solo-Car Crash on Palos Verdes Boulevard

 
REDONDO BEACH, CA (December 2, 2021) — A woman died in a solo-car accident on Palos Verdes Boulevard and Catalina Avenue on Wednesday morning.
 
According to the Redondo Beach Police Department, the fatal crash happened around 2:08 a.m. For unknown reasons, a female driver carrying a female passenger lost control of her Tesla. As a result, the vehicle crashed into a light pole, causing the car to rupture into flames.
 
Shortly after, paramedics responded and tended to the passenger who suffered minor injuries.
 
However, the driver died at the scene.
 
At this time, investigators have not released information as to what drove the fatal crash. However, any witnesses with information should contact the Redondo Beach Police.
