Woman Killed in Rear-End Accident on Highway 168 [Fresno, CA]

37-Year-Old Clovis Woman Dies after Rollover Car Accident on Highway 168 near Ashlan Avenue

 
FRESNO, CA (September 6, 2023) – A 37-year-old Clovis woman lost her life in a rear-end accident on Highway 168, early Tuesday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on September 5, at about 3:10 a.m. For reasons still under investigation, a 2007 Dodge Charger crashed into the rear of a 2015 Nissan Altima near the Ashlan Avenue off-ramp.
 
The impact of the collision caused the Nissan to overturn. As per reports, both driver became pinned in their vehicles.
 
Emergency crews transported the driver of the Nissan to Community Regional Medical Center, where she later died. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Meanwhile, the 23-year-old Dodge driver suffered critical but non-life-threatening injuries.
 
CHP ruled out alcohol and drugs as factors in the crash. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
