Woman Dies in Hayward Pedestrian Accident on Mission Boulevard

 
HAYWARD, CA (February 3, 2021) – Police confirmed that a woman died in a pedestrian accident at Mission Boulevard on January 14.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Gilbert Street shortly after 7:30 PM.
 
Based on a report, CHP officers found the 56-year-old woman suffering from major injuries. After a preliminary investigation, they learned that the victim was crossing Mission from east to west in a crosswalk at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, a silver Acura MDX struck her.
 
As a result, emergency crews said the victim died at the scene. At this time, the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office coroner’s division does not have her identity pending notification of her next-of-kin.
 
The driver, a 50-year-old Castro Valley man, stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. However, neither alcohol nor other substances appeared to be factors in the collision.
