Pedestrian Suffers Fatal Injuries after Struck by Car on Highway 242 in Concord

 
CONCORD, CA (June 4, 2023) – A woman was killed in a pedestrian accident on Highway 242 in Concord late Thursday evening on June 1.
 
The fatal accident happened around 11:30 p.m. just south of Clayton Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, the female pedestrian was walking along the southbound lanes of the highway when a gray Lexus IS-250 traveling south struck her.
 
The woman, whose identity was not immediately available, suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, a passenger in the Lexus sustained minor injuries. The Lexus driver was unharmed.
 
CHP investigators are still trying to determine why the woman was on the roadway. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol was a factor in the crash.
