Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 166 in Santa Maria Leaves One Passenger Dead

 
SANTA MARIA, CA (September 11, 2023) – A woman was killed in a multi-vehicle accident on Highway 166 in Santa Maria Monday afternoon on September 4.
 
The fatal accident happened around 12:50 p.m. near Alamo Creek Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Chevrolet Silverado crossed into the opposing lane to pass slower traffic when it collided with a Chevrolet Tahoe. A Toyota Corolla that was behind the Tahoe was also involved in the crash.
 
As a result, the female passenger in the Silverado suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. She was 28 years old from Victorville.
 
The drivers of the Silverado and the Tahoe were taken to area hospitals with major injuries.
 
The driver of the Corolla was also hospitalized with minor injuries.

A fourth vehicle was hit by a bicycle that was on the back of the Tahoe and became detached as a result of the crash. No one in that vehicle was injured.

An investigation into this fatality is ongoing.
