Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on Manchester Avenue in South LA

 
SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CA (October 23, 2023) – A woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Manchester Avenue at Cimarron Street in the Inglewood area of South Los Angeles on Friday evening.
 
The fatal crash happened around 8:00 p.m. on October 20. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the woman was crossing the street in an unmarked crosswalk when a speeding silver 2019 Kia Optima struck him.
 
After the crash, the Kia continued westbound on Manchester. Police later located the car in Inglewood and took the driver into custody.
 
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. She was 63 years old.
