Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on 905 Freeway in Otay Mesa

 
OTAY MESA, CA (March 18, 2024) – A woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash on 905 Freeway in Otay Mesa early Saturday morning on March 16.
 
The fatal crash happened around 12:05 a.m., just east of 5 Freeway. According to the California Highway Patrol, the female pedestrian was walking in the area when an unknown vehicle struck her.
 
After the crash, the driver of the vehicle continued westbound on 905 Freeway without stopping.
 
The victim died at the scene.
 
A toxicology report is pending by the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office. The identity of the victim was withheld pending notification to the next of kin.
 
An investigation is underway. Authorities urged anyone with information about the crash to call the CHP at 858-293-6000.
