Woman Killed in Head-On Accident on Campus Park Drive near Spring Gate Drive [Bakersfield, CA]

Head-On Crash on Campus Park Drive in Bakersfield Kills 1 and Injures 2

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (April 23, 2023) – A woman was killed in a head-on accident on Campus Park Drive in southwest Bakersfield late Tuesday afternoon on April 18.
 
The fatal accident happened around 5:44 p.m. near Spring Gate Drive. According to the Bakersfield Police Department, a man was driving east on Campus Park Drive when he crossed into the westbound lanes for unknown reasons. His vehicle then struck the woman’s vehicle head-on.
 
First responders found the woman in the driver’s seat of her vehicle with major injuries. They attempted saving her, but she died at the scene.
 
Two men in the other vehicle suffered moderate injuries. They were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
 
Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash. It’s unknown at this time if alcohol and/or drugs were factors. Anyone with further information is asked to call the Bakersfield Police Department at 661-327-7111.
