70-Year-Old Woman Dies after Crash with DUI Driver on Princeton Avenue in Stockton

 
STOCKTON, CA (December 8, 2023) – A woman was killed in a DUI crash at Princeton Avenue and Delaware Avenue in the Country Club neighborhood of Stockton Sunday evening.
 
The fatal crash happened around 10:25 p.m. on December 3. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 34-year-old man was driving a 2006 Infiniti under the influence of drugs or alcohol when he drove through the stop sign at the intersection. He then struck a 1990 GMC, driven by the victim.
 
After the crash, the driver of the Infiniti allegedly tried to run away from the scene. However, employees who were leaving work a block away at Michael’s Pizza stepped in, holding him until police arrived.
 
Upon arrival, police arrested the suspect and booked him into San Joaquin County Jail on suspicion of felony DUI and felony hit and run.
 
The woman died at the scene. She was 70 years old. Her identity was not immediately available.
 
Further investigation is underway.
