1 Dead, 3 Injured in DUI Accident on East Whitmore Avenue near Morgan Road in Ceres

 
CERES, CA (July 25, 2022) – A woman was killed in a DUI accident on East Whitmore Avenue on Friday evening.
 
According to the Modesto Police Department, the incident happened on July 22, at about 10:15 p.m. A vehicle reportedly failed to stop for a line of cars waiting at a red light and rear-ended one car near Morgan Road.
 
The impact of the collision sent both the vehicles into two other stopped vehicles at the intersection.
 
Emergency crews pronounced the woman dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Three other victims sustained injuries and were transported to local hospitals for treatment.
 
Meanwhile, responders arrested a 25-year-old driver on suspicion of drunk driving. As per reports, the man is facing charges of manslaughter and DUI.
 
Modesto police continue to investigate the fatal accident.
