Police Arrest Antonio Orosco for DUI after Deadly Crash in Kerman

 
KERMAN, CA (September 19, 2022) – A woman died and police arrested Antonio Orosco for DUI after a traffic collision on Highway 180 in Kerman Saturday evening on September 17.
 
The collision happened around 9:18 p.m. at the intersection with Shasta Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, the 27-year-old suspect from Fresno was driving a 2003 Honda westbound on Highway 180.
 
At the same time, a 20-year-old Mendota woman was driving a 2017 Acura eastbound with four passengers, two of them age 21 and the others 20 and 14. All from Mendota.
 
The Honda veered into the oncoming lane, directly into the path of the Acura, and the two vehicles collided head-on.
 
As a result, the woman driving the Acura suffered critical injuries and died at the scene. Three of her passengers sustained major injuries. The fourth passenger had moderate injuries.
 
Orosco also sustained major injuries. Police later arrested him on suspicion of drug impairment and vehicular manslaughter.
 
Further investigation is underway.
