Police Arrest DUI Suspect after Fatally Striking Mother and Injuring Two Children in Sacramento

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (December 5, 2023) – A woman died and Alethea Lee was arrested after a DUI crash in Sacramento Friday night on December 1.
 
The fatal crash happened around 6:05 p.m. along Pocket Road near Greenhaven Drive. According to the Sacramento Police Department, the 26-year-old suspect was speeding in the area when she lost control and struck the victim and her two children.
 
First responders rushed the three victims to a hospital, where the woman succumbed to her injuries on December 3. The two children survived in the crash.
 
Police said the woman was the mother of the two kids. She was not yet identified.
 
Meanwhile, Lee was also injured in the crash.
 
Police later arrested Lee for DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter charges. They booked her into the Sacramento County Jail at $450,000 bail.
