Passenger Dies after Head-On Crash with DUI Driver in Sutter County

 
SUTTER COUNTY, CA (January 28, 2024) – A woman was killed in a DUI crash on George Washington Boulevard in Sutter County Saturday afternoon on January 27.
 
The fatal crash happened around 4:00 p.m. near Lincoln Road, just outside of Yuba City. According to the California Highway Patrol, 38-year-old Adrienne Maloney was driving a white 2021 Honda Accord when she crossed into the northbound lane of George Washington Boulevard. She then collided head-on with a blue 2012 Mazda 3.
 
First responders rushed the driver and passenger of the Mazda to a hospital, where the passenger was later pronounced dead.
 
Authorities only identified the passenger as a 54-year-old woman from Roseville.
 
The driver of the Mazda, 35, and Maloney both sustained minor injuries.
 
Maloney showed signs and symptoms of alcohol intoxication. Officers arrested her for gross vehicular manslaughter and felony DUI charges. They booked her into Sutter County jail.

An investigation is ongoing.
