Austin Brooks Killed in Pedestrian Accident on 105 Freeway [West Athens, CA]

30-Year-Old Man Dies after Struck by Vehicle on 105 Freeway in West Athens Neighborhood

 
WEST ATHENS, CA (January 28, 2024) – Austin Brooks was killed in a pedestrian accident near the West Athens neighborhood early Thursday morning on January 25.
 
The fatal accident happened around 2:11 a.m. on 105 Freeway at the Vermont Avenue exit. According to the CHP, Brooks was hit by a car in the westbound lanes of the freeway.
 
When officers arrived, they found Brooks lying on the roadway with significant injuries.
 
Despite life-saving efforts, Brooks was pronounced dead at the scene. He was 30 years old, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner’s Office.
 
It was unknown if the involved driver stopped to cooperate with authorities.
 
The circumstances of this fatality remain under investigation.
