1 Person Dies in Big Rig, Car Crash at McCombs Road in Wasco

 
WASCO, CA (February 2, 2024) — A woman died in a 2-car accident involving a big rig at McCombs Road and Scofield Avenue.
 
According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, the deadly crash happened around 12:30 p.m. Thursday. Under unclear circumstances, a semi-truck and a Toyota Corolla crashed just south of the intersection. Soon after, deputies and firefighter-paramedics arrived and found a critically injured woman at the scene. Despite efforts to save her, first responders pronounced her deceased.
 
The fatal victim’s driver suffered unknown injuries and required hospital care and the semi-truck driver declined medical attention.
