Minivan and Semi Truck Collide on Highway 99 near Biggs Injuring One Driver

 
BIGGS, CA (February 5, 2024) – A woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 99 near Biggs Friday on February 2.
 
The accident happened at the intersection with East Rio Bonito Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, the woman was driving a minivan southbound on the highway when she pulled into the path of a northbound semi truck and crashed into it.
 
The impact of the crash caused the minivan to roll over, blowing out two radiators of the car.
 
After the vehicles collided, there was an explosion on the semi truck, but fire crews were able to put it out quickly. The cause of the fire is still unclear.
 
Responding paramedics took the woman to Enloe Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.
 
The man driving the semi was also hospitalized as a precaution.
 
The circumstances of the crash are still under investigation.
