BAKERSFIELD, CA (July 11, 2023) – A woman was injured in a three-vehicle accident on Union Avenue in Bakersfield Wednesday evening on July 5.
 
The accident happened at the intersection with Niles Street. According to the Bakersfield Police Department, a vehicle was traveling northbound on Union Avenue and went through a red light. It then collided with another vehicle traveling eastbound on Niles Street. The impact caused the vehicles to collide with a third vehicle.
 
The female driver of the northbound vehicle was ejected during the crash. She suffered moderate to major injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
 
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol was a factor. Further investigation is underway.
