Suspected DUI Crash on Palm Avenue in Palm City Injures Driver and Leaves Residents without Electricity

 
PALM CITY, CA (September 18, 2024) – A woman was injured in a suspected DUI crash on Palm Avenue in Palm City early Tuesday morning on September 17.
 
The crash happened around 3:20 a.m. near La Palma Mobile Estates. According to the San Diego Police Department, the woman was driving along Palm Avenue when she went off the roadway for unknown reasons.
 
Her car then flew down a hillside before crashing into a mobile home park, hitting a shed and then a trailer. Cement blocks and other debris struck the trailer, then a second trailer and two cars.
 
First responders extricated the woman from the wreckage, who suffered a head injury. After extrication, they transported her to a local hospital for treatment.
 
The crash also left residents without gas and electricity.

No one in the trailer park was injured, but some residents may be displaced due to the damage to their homes.

Authorities said DUI may be a factor in the crash, which is under investigation.
