OXNARD, CA (February 3, 2021) – A woman sustained injuries after a hit-and-run on M Street in Oxnard, Thursday January 21.
 
The incident happened around 10:30 a.m. behind the 1100 block of South M Street near the cross with Hill Street.
 
Oxnard Fire Department crews found a vehicle had hit the corner of two garages. The driver fled the scene.
 
People were living in one of the garages, including a mother and child who were in bed at the time. The impact pushed both of them off the bed. The mother was treated at the scene for minor injuries. The child was not injured.
 
The driver, a male believed to be in his 40s, was the only person seen in the SUV. Witnesses said he had brown hair, was wearing a black shirt and was heavyset. They described the vehicle as a green SUV.
 
Oxnard Police Department officers continued to investigate the incident and actively search for the suspect.
