Cyclist Hit, Injured by Car on Point Loma Boulevard in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (November 2, 2023) — A woman was injured in a bicycle accident on Point Loma Boulevard near Famosa Boulevard.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the bicycle crash happened around 9:00 p.m. Monday. For an unknown reason, a female bicyclist wearing dark-colored clothes was riding her bike with no lights. Subsequently, a 2011 Lexus RX 450 plowed into her in the 4300 block of West Point Loma Boulevard.
Moments later, paramedics responded to the scene and shuttled her to a hospital for treatment of a fractured pelvis. At the time of the report, traffic investigators did not say what led to the crash or if the driver sustained an injury. However, they did rule out alcohol as a possible factor.
