Pedestrian Dies after Hit by Saturn on Bowen Avenue in Modesto

 
MODESTO, CA (September 19, 2023) – A woman was hit and killed by a car on Bowen Avenue in Modesto Sunday evening on September 17.
 
The fatal crash happened around 9:30 p.m. near McHenry Avenue. According to the Modesto Police Department, the woman was crossing on Bowen Avenue when she was struck by a Saturn car that was heading southbound on McHenry Avenue.
 
As a result, the woman suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. She was not yet identified.
 
The driver of the Saturn, a 17-year-old from Modesto, stayed on scene and cooperated with police.
 
No additional information has been released, including what led up to the crash and the other circumstances surrounding it.
 
Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be contributing factors in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
