Customer Dies after SUV Crashes into Car Dealership on North Sepulveda Boulevard in Mission Hills

MISSION HILLS, CA (August 11, 2023) – A woman was fatally struck by a car on North Sepulveda Boulevard in Mission Hills Wednesday morning on August 9.

The fatal crash happened around 9:10 a.m. at a Toyota dealership in the 11000 block of North Sepulveda Boulevard. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, an SUV drove through the service bay driveway and crashed into a customer reception area within the dealership.

Police said the elderly woman driving the SUV mistakenly hit the accelerator instead of the brake.

The SUV then struck the 56-year-old female customer, trapping her underneath.

Bystanders freed the woman from the wreckage. A nurse performed CPR on the woman, who was not breathing and had no pulse.

Paramedics rushed the woman to a hospital, where she later died.

Two men who worked at the dealership were also injured. A 23-year-old man had an arm laceration and a 35-year-old man had head and foot injuries.

The SUV driver remained at the scene and was interviewed by police. The vehicle she was driving had handicap license plates.

An investigation is underway.
