Passenger Dies of Electrocution after Car Crashes into Electrical Box on Euclid Avenue

 
RIDGEVIEW-WEBSTER, CA (August 29, 2023) – A woman was electrocuted after a crash on Euclid Avenue in the Ridgeview-Webster neighborhood early Saturday morning on August 26.
 
According to the San Diego Police Department, a 31-year-old woman was driving a 2014 Kia Forte southbound in the 1300 block of Euclid Avenue around 2:30 a.m. For unknown reasons, she veered to the right and drove over the sidewalk. She then collided with an electrical box.
 
After the crash, both the driver and the 22-year-old female passenger exited the vehicle. The passenger reportedly attempted to push the vehicle off of the electrical box and was electrocuted.
 
The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
 
The driver was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of minor electrical burns. The driver’s injuries do not appear to be life threatening, police said.

SDPD’s Traffic Division is handling the investigation. They asked anyone with further information to call Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
