Woman Killed, Man Wounded in Single-Car Crash near Coffee Road in Modesto

 
MODESTO, CA (March 21, 2023) — A woman died, and a man was injured in a solo-car crash near Coffee Road and Scenic Drive.
 
According to the Modesto Police Department, the fatal single-car accident happened around 11:00 a.m. Saturday. For unknown reasons, a driver crashed a vehicle off the side of the road and traveled down an embankment. Subsequently, the car hit a tree, trapping two individuals in the wreckage.
 
Responding Modesto’s Fire Technical Rescue Team arrived and found the vehicle. They worked diligently to free the two occupants from the car — a man and a woman. However, the woman recovered from the vehicle died at the scene, and the man who was alert and conscious reported major injuries.
 
At this time, officers do not suspect impairment to have played a role in the crash. However, an ongoing investigation should confirm an explanation for the accident. If anyone has more information, please call the Modesto police department.
