Coroner Identifies William Merinko Killed in Palm Springs Car Crash

 
PALM SPRINGS, CA (October 14, 2021) – William Merinko was killed in a two-vehicle accident in Palm Springs late Tuesday evening.
 
The accident happened around 10:20 p.m. on October 12, at the intersection of Sunrise Way and East Tachevah Drive. According to Palm Springs police, Merinko was driving his car when he collided with another vehicle for unknown reasons. The impact ejected him onto the roadway.
 
Paramedics rushed Merinko to Desert Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries early Wednesday morning. He was a 67-year-old Palm Springs resident, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
 
The driver of the second vehicle was also transported to a hospital with minor injuries.
 
The cause of the crash is under investigation, but police said alcohol and drugs do not appear to have been a contributing factor.
