Woman Hit and Killed while Trying to Cross Highway 99 in Fresno
FRESNO, CA (March 13, 2021) – Virginia Quintana has been identified as a woman who died pedestrian accident Thursday night in Fresno.
Quintana, a 26-year-old Fresno resident, died at the scene, according to The Fresno County Coroner’s Office.
The accident happened just before 7:00 p.m., March 11, on Highway 99 south of Ashlan Avenue.
Quintana was trying to walk across the busy highway when a Toyota Tundra struck her. The 42-year-old driver was unable to avoid her. While lying in the roadway, multiple other vehicles also hit her.
All drivers remained on scene and were cooperating.
Impairment of the woman is unknown, pending toxicology results. The investigation is ongoing.
