Head-On Accident on Highway 120 in Jamestown Kills One and Seriously Injures Two

 
JAMESTOWN, CA (August 12, 2024) – Vicki Rasmussen and Erich Heinrichs were seriously injured in a deadly head-on crash on Highway 120 in Jamestown Friday morning on August 9.
 
The fatal crash happened around 7:25 a.m. just east of La Grange Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 54-year-old Ceres man was driving a 2014 Buick sedan eastbound with passenger Rasmussen, 66, of Ceres.
 
Heinrichs, a 67-year-old Turlock resident, was driving a 2020 Hino tank truck westbound.
 
For unknown reasons, the driver of the Buick to traveled over the highway’s painted solid double yellow lines, directly into the truck’s path. The vehicles then collided head-on.
 
As a result, Heinrichs and Rasmussen both suffered serious injuries. Paramedics took Heinrichs to Adventist Health Sonora and Rasmussen to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto for treatment.
 
The driver of the Buick died at the scene. His identity was not immediately available.

All three people involved were wearing seat belts, according to the CHP.

It was unknown if drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash. An investigation is underway.
