Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 49 in Mariposa Leaves 2 People Badly Injured

 
MARIPOSA, CA (May 15, 2023) – Two people were seriously injured in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 49 in Mariposa Friday morning on May 12.
 
The accident happened around 11:00 a.m. just south of Darrah Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado was heading southbound on the highway when a 2003 Ford Taurus entered the southbound lane, directly in front of the Chevrolet.
 
As a result, the Chevrolet collided with the Ford.
 
The driver of the Ford and her passenger were both transported to a local hospital with major injuries. The third occupant of the Ford sustained minor injuries.
 
The other driver was unharmed.
 
Alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
