MECCA, CA (May 24, 2022) – Two people were seriously injured in a head-on accident on Highway 86 in Mecca on Saturday morning, May 21.
 
The accident happened around 6:03 a.m. just south of Avenue 62. According to the Riverside County Fire Department, two Ford F-150 pickup trucks collided head-on for unknown reasons.
 
As a result of the crash, two people suffered major injuries and had to be freed from the wreckage by firefighters.
 
Both patients were taken to a hospital, one by ground ambulance and another by air ambulance.
 
At this time, the Riverside Country Sheriff’s Department is still investigating the crash.
