Electric Bike Crashes with Car near North General Kearny Road in Temecula Seriously Injuring Two Minors

 
TEMECULA, CA (March 24, 2024) – Two minors were seriously injured in an electric bicycle accident near North General Kearny Road and Nicolas Road in Temecula on Wednesday evening.
 
The accident happened just before 8:00 p.m. on March 20. According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the juveniles were illegally riding the Sur-Ron bike whey they collided with a Honda sedan.
 
As a result, both minors were ejected from the bike and suffered serious injuries.
 
The driver of the Honda was unharmed.
 
Officers said the bike lacked basic safety equipment needed for use on public streets. They also said the minors were not licensed.
 
At this time, an investigation is ongoing. Anyone with further information about the crash is asked to call Deputy Ott at 951–696–3000.
