Two Separate Crashes Near Lookout Point Result in Injuries

 
BUTTE COUNTY, CA (April 11, 2023) — Two people sustained minor injuries following two car crashes near Lookout Point early Monday morning.
 
According to California Highway Patrol, the first crash occurred around 9:45 a.m. A Hyundai traveling westbound on Skyway near Lookout Point swerved after encountering two deer crossing the road. The car spun and hit an embankment on the passenger side.
 
Subsequently, a Ford Escape traveling behind the Hyundai stopped to help the two girls in the car and was hit from behind by another vehicle. Based on reports, the second vehicle was traveling at high speeds on the 55-mile-per-hour speed limit highway.
 
Meanwhile, two people in the second crash suffered injuries. Paramedics took them to Enloe Medical Center in Chico. The woman who had stopped to help the girls in the first crash did not report any injuries.
 
At 10:55 a.m., one lane of Skyway closed while the emergency response was ongoing. Tow trucks were also on the scene. The roadway reopened by 11:30 a.m.
