Hesperia Two-Truck Crash on 15 Freeway near Joshua and Main Streets

 
HESPERIA, CA (October 7, 2021) — Two trucks crashed on the 15 Freeway in the Hesperia area, sending two people to the hospital Monday morning.
 
Reports from the California Highway Patrol indicated that the incident occurred at around 7:53 a.m. It involved a 2019 Freightliner Cascadia with an Eston Logistics trailer and a 2020 Hino 195 box truck.
 
According to the CHP, the semi was transporting various Home Depot items. The trailer on the Hino, meanwhile, contained 36,000 pounds of negative hazardous materials and miscellaneous food items.
 
An initial investigation showed that the box truck was stopped on the right-hand shoulder between Joshua and Main Streets when the Freightliner collided into it. The impact forced the box truck to its side, while the Freightliner sustained front-end-damage.
 
The drivers of both vehicles were able to get out of their trucks. Emergency responders took them to area hospitals for further evaluation.
