Two Fatally Injured after Fiery Crash on Highway 76 and Airport Road

 
OCEANSIDE, CA (February 21, 20220) — Two people died in a fiery accident on Highway 76 when a car hit a pole on Saturday, February 19.
 
According to Sgt. Rick Davis of the Oceanside Police Department, police rushed to a call about a crash of a Dodge SUV at 2:13 a.m. on Highway 76 and Airport Road.
 
Officers arrived to discover the SUV fully engulfed in flames.
 
Oceanside Fire Department crews arrived to extinguish the fire. They also found two dead occupants in the vehicle.
 
There were no witnesses to the crash. The OPD’s major accident investigation team handles the ongoing investigation.
 
The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office has not released the names of the dead pending notification of loved ones.
