Two People Struck, Killed by Vehicle on East Juniper Avenue in Atwater

 
ATWATER, CA (November 3, 2022) – Two pedestrians died in an accident on East Juniper Avenue on Wednesday morning.
 
According to the Atwater Police Department, the incident happened on November 2 at about 9:30 a.m. For reasons still under investigation, a westbound black Chrysler minivan hit two pedestrians and a light pole near Augusta Lane.
 
Emergency crews pronounced the pedestrians dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identities of the victims, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the minivan remained and cooperated with investigators.
 
Responders temporarily closed the roadway until noon to make way for an investigation.
