Two People Suffered Injuries after Hit-and-Run on M Street and 12th Street

 
MERCED, CA (March 4, 2022) — Two people sustained injuries in a hit-and-run crash on M Street at around 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2.
 
According to the Merced Police Department, officers rushed to the area of M Street and 12th Street after receiving reports of injured pedestrians.
 
When officers arrived, they discovered two people lying in the roadway and suffered from moderate injuries.
 
Medical responders rushed both pedestrians to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries.
 
Following the incident, officials said the driver who struck the pedestrians drove away from the scene. They didn’t stop to check on them or call the police.
 
After speaking with witnesses, officers learned a driver in a 4-door car struck the victims. Then it headed northbound down the road.
 
Witnesses reportedly told officers that the suspect’s car had damage to the front right bumper and headlight.
