Two Officers Injured in DUI Accident on 80 Freeway near American Canyon Road [Solano County, CA]

DUI Driver Collides into Two CHP Officers on 80 Freeway in Solano County, Louie Jackson III Arrested

 
SOLANO COUNTY, CA (September 14, 2022) – Two CHP officers were injured in a DUI crash on 80 Freeway in Solano County early Sunday morning, September 11.
 
The crash happened along the westbound freeway just east of American Canyon Road. According to the California Highway Patrol Solano, the officers were on the shoulder of the freeway for an enforcement stop.
 
Both were standing outside of their vehicle when an SUV traveling on the right shoulder hit the officers’ vehicle which then caused the vehicle to collide into the officers.
 
Paramedics took the officers to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries. One officer had a concussion and the other sustained a broken leg.
 
According to the CHP, after complaining about their injuries, the driver of the SUV was arrested for a DUI. He was identified as 25-year-old Louie F. Jackson III of Vallejo.
 
The original driver that the officers had stopped was unharmed.
 
An investigation into this crash is ongoing.
