Wrong-Way Driver Causes Deadly Fiery Crash on 80 Freeway near the Carquinez Bridge

CROCKETT, CA (March 22, 2022) – Two people were killed in a wrong-way fiery accident on 80 Freeway near the Carquinez Bridge in Crockett, early Sunday morning.
 
The fatal accident happened around 3:40 a.m. on March 20 just west of Pomona Street. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Honda SUV was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of the freeway when it slammed head-on into a Tesla Model 3.
 
A Toyota Camry then collided with the other two vehicles, which became engulfed in flames.
 
As a result, the drivers of the Honda and the Tesla both died at the scene. Their identities were not immediately available.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the Camry sustained minor injuries.
 
An investigation into this fatal crash is underway.
