Fatal Car Crash on Avalon Boulevard in Wilmington

 
WILMINGTON, CA (September 27, 2022) – Two people were killed in a three-vehicle accident on Avalon Boulevard in Wilmington on Thursday evening, September 22.
 
Around 8:15 p.m., a vehicle speeding on Lomita Boulevard ran a red light and hit another vehicle going northbound on Avalon Boulevard.
 
The impact caused the second vehicle to burst into flames and crash into a third vehicle.
 
Fire crews extinguished the fire and pronounced one person dead at the scene. They worked to extricate another person, but that person also succumbed to their injuries.
 
A third patient complained of pain.
 
Authorities later confirmed that the two deceased were the drivers of the first and second vehicles.
 
The Los Angeles Police Department is still investigating the factors involved in the crash and liability.
