Sports Car Crashes Down Ravine on Del Puerto Canyon Road Killing Two Men

 
STANISLAUS COUNTY, CA (January 3, 2024) – Two people were killed in a sports car crash on Del Puerto Canyon Road in western Stanislaus County Friday on December 23.
 
The fatal crash happened around 9:14 p.m. just west of Diablo Grande Parkway. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 24-year-old man was driving a 2004 Chrysler Crossfire with his 27-year-old male passenger when he unable to negotiate the left curve in the roadway.
 
The car went off the north shoulder and into a ravine. It then overturned and came to rest on its roof in a shallow creek. The vehicle was 50 feet down an embankment.
 
As a result of the crash, the two men died at the scene. Both were Stockton residents and both were wearing their seat belts.
 
It is still unknown whether alcohol or drugs factored in the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
