Small Plane Crashes at Zamperini Field in Torrance Killing 2 People

 
TORRANCE, CA (December 1, 2022) – Two people died in a small plane crash at Zamperini Field in Torrance on Wednesday morning.
 
The fatal crash happened just after 11:00 a.m. on November 30. According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the single-engine Arion Lightning plane with two people aboard crashed while attempting to land.
 
Video from the scene showed the plane largely crumpled on a grassy area adjacent to the runway.
 
The two people aboard the plane both died in the crash.
 
There were no reports of any injuries on the ground. There was no immediate word on the cause of the crash.
 
The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash.
