Two Cars Collide on 580 Freeway in Richmond Killing Both Drivers

 
RICHMOND, CA (September 5, 2023) – Two people died and another one was seriously injured in two-car accident on 580 Freeway in Richmond early Sunday morning on September 3.
 
The fatal accident happened around 2:00 a.m. near Stenmark Drive, just east of the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Nissan Sentra and Toyota Camry collided along the westbound lanes of the freeway.
 
As a result, both drivers of the cars were pronounced dead at the scene. They were not yet identified.
 
The Toyota’s passenger was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
 
It was unknown whether alcohol was a factor in the crash. The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation.
