The fatal crash happened around 8:45 p.m. on March 16 just near Rudsdale Street. According to the Oakland Police Department, officers tried to carry out a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 1300 block of 76th Avenue. When the vehicle fled southbound at high speed, officers did not pursue it.
